Another 10k race morning, this time down by NASA. The run is a neat one - called Yuri’s Run celebrating the first human in space. The course winds through the neighborhood where many current and former astronauts live, and they have signs out front with names and missions.

I was training hard (for me) for this one, and ended up having a great race with a solid PR, almost 90 seconds quicker than my prior PR. Netted me second place in my division - though first place smoked me by 8 minutes.

Really happy with the result, and always good to see the work I put in pay off. I’ll be honest, I do this race mostly because it has a relatively low 10k turnout which improves my odds for placing. But setting a solid PR is equally satisfying.

At our age, we don’t do it for Olympic medals. We do it for ourselves. That’s a  super result!

PRs are always good! I could never get into that mentality, but health reasons are making it a good idea. Rather than d o something I know I could, but faster, I was always “let’s see if I can do that.” I’m thinking about running a 10k or half marathon again, just to see what time I could do. I'm damn sure never doing a full again

Excellent! It looks like it was a good day for a run.
